The two first home in the Grand Prix de Pau (Gr3), Forthing (pictured) and Vieux Morvan are both trained by Isabelle Pacault.

Sunday, January 22, 2017, Pont-Long (Pau). - Trainer Isabelle Pacault saddled five of the fifteen runners of the 130th Grand Prix de Pau-Biraben Foie Gras (Gr3), and three of them finished in the first four places, including the first two as Forthing (Barastraight) won in front of his AQPS stablemate Vieux Morvan (Voix du Nord).

The favorite Paulougas (Turgeon) could not keep up with the Pacault-trained duo after leading most of the 5,300m long chase but he kept the 3rd place despite Pinson du Rheu (Al Namix)'s final assault.

Third last year of this same "Pau Gold Cup", Forthing had just got beaten by Paulougas in the last prep race. He races under Magalen Bryant's silks and was ridden by Geoffrey Ré, who rode him in his previous eight races. Forthing, now 6, is the 4th and best foal to date of unraced mare Something Fine (Baby Turk). He was bred by Ingrid Desagnat in Maine-et-Loire.
