The 4 year old Feu Follet (Kapgarde) would be unbeaten in five races if he had not run off the course in his second hurdle race at Clairefontaine last summer. Winner for his chasing debut at Auteuil in November, he won his first group in the Prix d'Indy Hurdle Race (Gr3), Saturday at Auteuil. His trainer Guillaume Macaire scored four victories on the day after the success of his two representatives in the 3-year-old races and that of Storm of Saintly in the Prix Troytown Chase (Gr3).

Feu Follet prevailed easily after leading the way, beating Byzance du Berlais (Martaline) and a promising Pat du Pont (Cokoriko) by seven lengths. He's a son of Folle de Toi (Sageburg) bred by the Ecurie D (Jean-Pierre Dubois). His dam ran eight times without success over the flat and Feu Follet is her first foal. She has since given two Kapgarde fillies and a weanling by Triple Threat. She is herself a sister of Fou et Sage (Sageburg), second in the same Prix d'Indy Hurdle and in the Prix de Pepinvast Hurdle Race (Gr3) behind the champion Bonito du Berlais.

One of the top 3yo hurdlers of the 2018 season, Farnice (Saddler Maker) finished second for his chasing debut in the Prix Didier Mescam, behind his stablemate Figuero (Yeats), an other chasing beginner trained by François Nicolle.
