The 4-year-old entire colt Goliath du Berlais (Saint des Saints) dominated from one end to the other the final goal of his career in the Prix Ferdinand Dufaure 4yo Chase (Gr1). Bred by Jean-Marc Lucas, he's owned by Stéphane Szwarc, Haras d'Etreham and Palmyr Racing and will now enter stud at the Haras d'Étreham, where he will join his sire, with seven wins and more than € 500,000 on his tally.

Attacked successively by Royal Et Tic (Policy Maker), Bel Apsis (Apsis) and Thrilling (Network), he repelled every one of them to win by fourteen lengths on Bel Apsis, who has recovered well after a mistake at the end of the opposite line and himself fifteen lengths in front of the third-placed Thrilling, who almost lost her rider at the second last obstacle of the race.

The winning trainer Guillaume Macaire was saddling a 5th winner in the French classic, and he was quick to praise the work made at home by Goliath's morning rider, Maxime Le Gaillard, to manage the powerful colt.

Goliath's dam, King's Daughter (King's Theater), bred in France by Gérard Samama, won the Prix Bournosienne Hurdle (Gr3) at Auteuil for trainer Robert Collet. Goliath is her fifth foal, her third winner. He is followed by a Muhtathir colt in training with Robert Collet, another Muhtathir filly and a Saint of Saints filly born in 2018.
