An easy winner for her 6-furlongs debut at the end of her 2-year-old season at Chantilly, Big Brothers Pride (Invincible Spirit) was a little disappointing for her comeback when she faded to eighth after leading over 6 1/2 furlongs on the Chantilly all-weather track in the Prix Montenica (L). Facing with a fearsome trio of British sprinters, the filly owned by Kin Hung Kei and Qatar Racing, trained in Pau by François Rohaut, completely amended herself in the Prix Sigy ( Gr3), Saturday at Chantilly over 5 1/2 furlongs.
Fast ahead and tailed by the British raider True Mason (Mayson), flanked by his fellow from Albion, Vintage Brut (Dick Turpin) and Barbill (Zebedee), the filly nevertheless dominated from one end to the other and she was still going easy three hundred yards out while her rivals were seemingly already in the red. She finally won by four lengths, with great ease, Happy Odyssey (Camacho), another filly, taking the second place in extremis before Ilanga (Penny's Picnic), who finished well despite a rough trip well.
Big Brothers Pride made € 400,000 at the Arqana yearling sales when seized by Meridian Bloodstock (Ghislain Bozo). The filly was consigned by the Haras des Monceaux, who had secured her dam, the Wertheimer-bred Polygreen (Green Tune) in Deauville for € 200 000 € with the future Big Brothers Pride in her flanks!
Since then, Polydream (Oasis Dream), an older sister of the filly, won the Shadwell Prix du Calvados (Gr3), finished second in the Total Prix Marcel Boussac (Gr1) and won the LARC Prix Maurice de Gheest (Gr1) ...
Note that the second, Happy Oddyssey, joined Nicolas Clément's yard last year after being bought € 300,000 at the Arqana Arc sale. Like the winner, she carries the flag for a Chinese owner, Yuesheng Zhang, who has invested in racing through Yulong Investments in Australia, the United States and Europe.
Facile gagnante pour ses débuts sur 1 200 mètres, en fin d’année de 2 ans à Chantilly, Big Brothers Pride (Invincible Spirit) a un peu déçu pour sa rentrée lorsqu’elle a terminé huitième après avoir mené sur les 1 300 mètres de PSF du Prix Montenica, toujours à Chantilly. Face à un redoutable trio de britanniques dont les aptitudes au sprint avaient déjà été éprouvées, la représentante de Kin Hung Kei et de Qatar racing, entraînée à Pau par François Rohaut, a montré un tout autre visage sur les 1 100 mètres du Prix Sigy (Gr3), samedi à Chantilly.
Vite en tête et d’abord suivie par l’anglais True Mason (Mayson), aussitôt flanqué de ses compatriotes Vintage Brut (Dick Turpin) et Barbill (Zebedee), la pouliche a dominé d’un bout à l’autre et elle allait encore facilement à trois cents mètres du but quand ses adversaires semblaient déjà tous à fond. Elle s’est finalement imposée de quatre longueurs, mais avec beaucoup d’aisance, Happy Odyssey (Camacho), une autre pouliche, prenant la deuxième place in extremis devant Ilanga (Penny’s Picnic), qui finit bien.
Big Brothers Pride a été achetée 400 000 € yearling aux ventes Arqana par Meridian Bloodstock (Ghislain Bozo). La pouliche était présentée par le Haras des Monceaux, acheteur de sa mère, la Wertheimer Polygreen (Green Tune), l’année d’avant à Deauville pour 200 000 € avec, donc, la future Big Brothers Pride dans les flancs !

On notera que la deuxième, Happy Oddyssey, a rejoint les boxes de Nicolas Clément l’année dernière après avoir été achetée 300 000 € aux ventes de l’Arc Arqana. Comme la première, elle porte les couleurs d’un propriétaire chinois, Yuesheng Zhang, qui a investi aux courses à travers Yulong Investments en Australie, aux États-Unis et en Europe.
