The favourite of the Prix Alain du Breil 4yo Hurdle race (Gr1), Feu Follet (Kapgarde) did not let the punters down over the 2 1/2 mile of the French Triumph Hurdle. Prepared by Guillaume Macaire for Écurie Pierre Pilarski and Palmyr Racing, he looks set to take over in the autumn, over the bigger obstacles he's tackled earlier in the season, the succession of his stable mate Goliath du Berlais, who ended his career on Sunday by winning the Ferdinand Dufaure Chase (Gr1).

Like him, Feu Follet led the race from one end to the other and he won with 7 lengths to spare on his main challenger Polirico (Cokoriko), who held off the Irish raider French Made (Dream Well) for second place.

Feu Follet is out of Folle de Toi (Sageburg), and he's bred by the Écurie D (Jean-Pierre Dubois). The dam ran eight times without success over the flat and Feu Follet is her first foal. She has since given two Kapgarde fillies, including an unraced 3-year-old in training with Guillaume Macaire, and then a Triple Threat colt. She is herself a sister of Fou et Sage (Sageburg), second in the Prix d'Indy Hurdle race and then the Prix de Pépinvast Hurdle race (Gr3), also over hurdles, behind the champion Bonito du Berlais.
