Revelling in the sight of magnificent horses in full flight after spending the morning lazing on the beach is a treat that only the Meeting de Deauville Lucien Barrière has to offer!

Admiring the horses, choosing who to back, then cheering them on as they gallop around the track: is there a better way to spend a summer’s day?
As night fell, the electric atmosphere of the evening races added an extra touch of magic to the thrilling on-track battles.

And throughout the month-long 2012 Meeting de Deauville Lucien Barrière, racegoers could once again enjoy the famous France Galop entertainment activities in between tense turf-side tussles!

Feel the thunder of hooves
Visitors were invited to experience racing like never before with our race simulator! With a giant screen, vibrating floor and the sound of thundering hooves and panting thoroughbreds, our simulator is as realistic as they come - even the track they “rode” around was from Deauville-La Touques racecourse! A unique and unmissable experience!

Get right to the heart of racing
What does a race meeting involve? How do the champions train? What are the most legendary events? By embarking on this fun and educational tour, racegoers were able to learn all there is to know about the sport of kings!

Meet-and-greet with the stars of the turf
Racing fans were invited to get up close and personal with racing’s biggest stars in our “Black Type” area. In this area, racegoers could rub shoulders with their racing heroes just minutes after seeing the jockeys’ exploits on the turf! With autograph-signing sessions, interviews, a “cocktail of the day” created by the jockeys themselves, and meet-and-greet sessions, this convivial area was created in partnership with the Lucien Barrière Group to give racing fans the perfect opportunity to meet their idols!

Challenge a jockey!
Always wanted to play a game of football, boules, paintball or mini-golf against a team of racing’s biggest stars? Well this dream came true for several lucky racegoers in 2012! Every day of the 2012 Meeting de Deauville Lucien Barrière, the first 1,000 racegoers to arrive at the racecourse were given a QR Code to scan with a Smartphone or hand in to one of the “Club Black Type” hostesses. Holders of a winning ticket were then invited to take part in one of these amazing experiences!

Winners of the “Best photograph from the Meeting de Deauville Lucien Barrière” competition were treated to lunch for two in the “La Toque" panoramic restaurant at Deauville-La Touques racecourse, as well as 2 cocktails of the day in the "Black Type Club"!

Jockey Tombola
A Renault Twizy, a Longines watch, a night in a Lucien Barrière hotel, and a host of other great prizes were up for grabs in the Jockey Tombola, organised by France Galop in aid of the French Association of Racing Jockeys and the Maisons-Laffitte and Chantilly jockey hospitals. The main draw took place on Sunday 26th August 2012.

Fun and frolics for the kids
Our younger visitors were kept entertained for hours with our merry-go-round, pony rides and giant “Petits Chevaux” board game, making their time at Deauville-La Touques racecourse a highlight of their holiday!
