Rubi Ball crowned King of Auteuil for the second year running
Only the most gifted of horses can triumph in the Prix La Haye Jousselin, and the race’s 22 challenging obstacles make achieving such a feat twice in a row even more of an exploit. Nevertheless, just one year after his dazzling victory at Auteuil, Rubi Ball took the laurels once again in the temple of jumps racing.
After his runaway victory in 2010, this handsome liver chestnut, who is owned by Mme Patrick Papot and trained by Jacques Ortet, was said to have an extremely rosy future ahead of him.
In 2011, Rubi Ball and jockey David Cottin clinched another magnificent victory, leaving people in no doubt of the gelding’s incredible talent.
Rhialco and Christophe Pieux finished the race in second place, ahead of Quarouso, ridden by Nathalie Desoutter. Pibrac and Doumaja passed the post in fourth and fifth place respectively.
